Lorena Rojas, the lead actress in popular TV series Second Chance is gone

 

Mexican actress and singer Lorena Rojas died on Monday, Feb. 16, at the age of 44.

According to her talent agency, the prolific telenovela star passed away after losing her battle with cancer.

The release stated that the Rosario star was surrounded by her boyfriend, family members, and friends at the time of her death. She previously fought the disease in 2008 and again in 2012.
Rojas celebrated her 44th birthday on Feb. 10, just days before she died. She took to Twitter to thank her fans and supporters for their birthday wishes, and said it was a "beautiful day."
Rojas is survived by daughter Luciana.

23 year old Australian woman Alyssa Pearce, wrote an angry letter uninviting her parents to her wedding and posted it online. The medical student left home when she was just 16 because she couldn't get along with her parents and said she hadn't had any contact with her parents in 7 years. She said she was surprised when they wrote to her asking for invites to her wedding.

She wrote 'There was really only one way to respond.'  She then wrote the anti-invite letter and posted it on instagram which has since been shared thousands of times.

Debbi Wood has banned her husband from watching women on TV.

Debbi, 43, has been diagnosed with Othello Syndrome, which causes delusional jealousy.

It has affected her to the point that she has stopped her husband Steve, 32, from watching telly in case there is a woman shaving her legs in an advert.

Wood, from Leicester, Checks her partner’s phone, email accounts and bank statements to check he isn’t playing away.

She even makes him take lie detector tests every time she doubts his word.

Appearing on This Morning with her hubby, Debbi said she believes that men aren’t able to appreciate inner beauty like women can.

She said: ‘All woman have an inner beauty, but for a man it goes beyond that…lusting after a woman mentally. Mentally having some sort of intimate fantasy about them as opposed to actually just admiring that person’s beauty.’

However Debbi believes having a gastric band operation on the NHS will help her with her insecurity.

She said: ‘I have a small frame, this small frame is carrying extra weight instead of what it normally should do.

‘It’s gonna help physically, I feel like my bones are crushing on the inside, I have back and knee problems, but mentally it’s gonna give me a bit more confidence with myself.

‘I’m having the therapy I need, but having a gastric band is going to help me physically do things, to help me go out with my husband, to make me feel confident and get my life back.’

Host Phillip Schofield did leave her stumped at one point.

He said: ‘When we came into the studio you said to me “You look lovely” and I said “Careful or he’ll get jealous!” Why can you do it but he can’t?”

Awkwardly, Debbi didn’t have an answer for him.

When asked how they thought a gastric band was going to help, Steve, now a full time carer for his wife as she has back problems, added: ‘If we tackle physical first, then the mental problem will go down.’culled

Teenager set ablaze for allegedly stealing N1, 500 in Ogun state.

The Ogun State Police Command is presently searching for a bar manager, Mr. Bidemi Shittu, who allegedly poured petrol on his 13-year-old attendant, Ezekiel Emmanuel, and set him ablaze.

It was gathered that the manager took the action because the teenager reportedly stole N1,500 from him.

Punch Metro learnt that the incident happened in the Akoka area of Ibafo, Ogun State, on Monday, February 9.

Our correspondent gathered that the runaway suspect, Bidemi, who is married with children, was the manager of Golden Fingers Bar in the area, while Emmanuel was one of his attendants.

Our correspondent learnt that Bidemi, who had accused Emmanuel of theft on Sunday, allegedly tied the teenager’s hands and feet in a room in his bar till Monday, waiting for him to admit

the offence.It was gathered that on Monday, at about 11.30pm, Bidemi brought Emmanuel out to the front of the bar, poured petrol on the boy and set fire on him.

Our correspondent learnt that some residents, who were out at the time, rescued the victim.

They were said to have rushed Emmanuel to a private hospital in the area where he was initially treated before he was referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, the following day.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the matter was reported to the Ibafo Police Division, and the policemen sealed off the bar.

However, it was gathered that the suspect, Bidemi, fled before he could be arrested.

When our correspondent got to the area on Thursday, Emmanuel’s uncle, Mr. Toyin Olayemi, said the boy was rejected by four

different hospitals before he was eventually taken to LASUTH.

He said, 

“Emmanuel’s father is not around. He went to his hometown in Ekiti because he fell ill. On Tuesday morning when they told me about Emmanuel. I rushed to the private hospital and I saw him on the bed, severely burnt from head to abdomen.
“He was working on part-time basis in the bar, although Bidemi did not pay him any salary. Emmanuel is also learning generator repair at a workshop. I was told that the manager accused him of stealing N1,500.
“Despite pleas from neighbours that they would repay him, he waited till everyone had gone to sleep and brought out the boy and burnt his body.

“The private hospital asked us to take him away the following day. We went to about four government hospitals which rejected him before we came to LASUTH.
“Since that Tuesday, they have not allowed us to see him. They said he was still under observation. The suspect too has run away. We learnt that a policeman in the Ibafo division tipped Bidemi off to evade arrest.”

When our correspondent visited the suspect’s father, Pa Shittu, he told PUNCH Metro that the most important thing was for the victim to get well.

He said,

 “My wife went to check the boy in the hospital. The doctors did not allow her to see him, but they told her that he was responding to treatment. I have spent about N150,000 on his treatment.I have not seen Bidemi. I don’t know his whereabouts. He has refused to pick my calls. The most important thing is for the child to get well.”

When our correspondent got to the private hospital in Ibafo where Emmanuel was initially treated, the doctor said he ensured that he was in a stable condition before he was transferred.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident.He added that the police were intensifying efforts to arrest the suspect.

He said, “The suspect poured petrol on the boy for stealing.
He maltreated him, tied his hands and feet, and set him on fire. The boy is still in the hospital and the suspect is presently at large.“But the police will arrest the suspect.
“This act is not only criminal, but also barbaric. We are intensifying efforts to get him, we will.”

Man dies test running boss' power bike. *sad

Tragedy struck yesterday as a Customs Officer attached to the Port and Multi-Purpose Terminal Services, PTML, command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, rode his boss’ power bike under a moving petroleum tanker and died immediately.
The officer, identified as Muri was test driving the power bike whichVanguard gathered had just been acquired by his boss, identified as Olagunju, when the accident occurred.
An eyewitness told Vanguard that the accident has thrown the entire command into a mourning mood as the boss of the deceased was also shaken by the accident.

The eyewitness said:

 “The man was test driving the power bike that was bought by one of the gate officers at PMTL and he was on top speed, he ran under a truck that was moving and in a few minutes the man was lifeless”

When Vanguard visited the command, the Public Relations Officers of the command, Mr. Steve Okonmma was seen making frantic efforts to reach the family of the deceased through his (Muri) mobile phone.

It was gathered that while the tanker driver escaped arrest, an articulated vehicle that was also involved in the accident was promptly arrested.
It was also confirmed that when the command eventually reached the deceased family, they requested that he should be buried immediately in accordance with Islamic rites.

Jaycee Chan, Jackie Chan's Son Released From Jail In China

Jaycee Chan was detained in August last year after he tested positive for marijuana and police found more than 100 grams of the drug in his Beijing apartment.

His management company, Mstones, said he was released early Friday morning and will hold a press conference on Saturday.

"He will make a formal public apology and give a full explanation,"

 A Beijing court sentenced him in January but took into account the time he already spent in jail since last summer.

Chan pleaded guilty to "hosting others to take drugs," was also fined 2,000 yuan ($320), announced the Dongcheng District People's Court.

The Hong Kong native was arrested along with a Taiwanese actor, amid a government crackdown on celebrity drug offenders.

Although he did not attend the trial, Jackie Chan -- who has starred in Hollywood blockbusters like "Rush Hour" and was named an anti-drugs ambassador in China in 2009 -- had expressed anger and disappointment in his son in media interviews.

"I failed to discipline him -- now the state is helping me discipline him and make him get rid all the bad habits," the elder Chan, 60, told the state-run Xinhua news agency last December, while denying his son had received special treatment in jail.

The younger Chan's case has put a spotlight on the Chinese capital's intensifying anti-drugs campaign. By mid-November, the authorities had detained almost 10,000 people for using drugs, nearly double the previous year's figure.

Announcing the numbers, a top anti-narcotics official in Beijing emphasized the government's "zero-tolerance" stance on celebrity offenders due to the impact of their behavior on the youth.

Last August, dozens of management agencies representing actors and singers signed an agreement with Beijing authorities, banning drug use from the entertainment industry and pledging to fire any artists who break the law.

Tonbra Alamieyeseigha and his wife of seven months Chikodi Stella Ononiwu have parted ways under very controversial circumstances that will shock you because the drama that ensued looked like it was culled from a detective movie.

According to what insiders who saw what happened, they say Tonbra's wife Chikodi began dating one Ernest a married Banker who also lives in Abuja and over time they both exchanged love text messages which could be referred to as 'sexting'

The pair exchanged messages telling each other how they couldn't wait to be together again after every session of passionate meeting at their secret hideout. According to insiders, Tonbra suspected his wife was up to something and when the opportunity came, her phone revealed all what was going on and even had venues of meetings with her lover Ernest.

The snooped messages also showed that the lover boy used to pick up Chikodi right from home in her husbands absence. A scene was plotted and Tonbra left town on a business trip and after his darling wife Chikodi kissed him goodbye, she immediately informed Ernest who immediately made out time same day and picked her up from her home front but unknown to both, they were being trailed to the hotel where they normally unleashed their passion. 

Chikodi was caught pants down with her lover Ernest on Thursday February 6, 2015, by the team that had been following her activities. As they burst into the hotel room to catch the lovers in the act, Chikodi enacted a scene and there was serious altercation which was caught on a mobile phone device as proof. 

The husband, Tonbra, who was convinced of his wife's infidelity after she was caught pants down, threw her out on Saturday February 8, 2015, and she has since returned to her parents house and Ernest is nowhere to be seen. 

Insiders whisper that Chikodi cannot approach any of her husbands family to beg on her behalf because there was an open air of hostility between her and her in-laws when she was with Tonbra. After all the money the guy spend to marry her, her wayward ways eventually exposed her. How sad!

Miracle Tree In FUTO Hoax

Yesterday, water started gushing out from a Kasood tree opposite All saints chapel in the Federal University ofTechnology Owerri and the miracle tree theory started spreading. Barely 24hrs after, the real truth behind the saga has been unveiled.

When the scene was revisited,there were students, bike

riders, sellers and pedestrians around the tree waiting for the

proposed miracle water to start gushing out again. Few minutes later, NTA Owerri team arrived the scene to see for themselves what actually

happened.

Mr Romanus, a staff of the institution who works in the estate and works department came out and said that the incident occurred as a result of a broken pipe under the tree.

In order to prove his claim, he sent his men to go and put on the reservoir tank and a few minutes later, the alleged "HOLY WATER" rushing out of the tree with full force, he sent them to turn it off and the water stopped rushing out

of the tree making everyone believe that there was nothing like a miracle tree.

Good news Nigerians. Nigeria rises in world economy as UK falls

According to a recently released PWC report available on most top British & European Newspapers and Tabloids, The UK economy will be overtaken by Nigeria and Mexico by 2050 as the country currently sitting among the Top Ten economies in the World may be displaced by these emerging economies given the current GDP growth rate of the country.

The UK’s economy’s will lag behind emerging markets, as its GDP growth rate falls from 2.3 per cent in 2014 to around 1.8 per cent in 2050, the report attributes an aging population and slothfulness among the countries workers as reason for the decline in the UK’s productivity.

Nigeria currently the 39th strongest Economy in the World under President Jonathan’s government in terms of GDP, Vietnam and the Philippines have high projected average growth rates of around 4.5-5.5 per cent per year until 2050. Malaysia is also projected to grow at around 4 per cent, which is higher than China’s projected average growth rate of around 3.5 per cent.

By 2050, according to a World Bank, Goldman Sachs study it is believed that if this current growth rate is maintained, Mexico will have become the Eight biggest economy in the world, and Nigeria the 13th by 2050. Turkey, Vietnam, Colombia, Poland and Malaysia are also slated to be the fast-growing large economies in the years taking us up to the middle of the century.

John Hawksworth, PwC’s chief economist, said: “Europe needs to up its game if it’s not to be left behind by this historic shift of global economic power, which is moving us back to the kind of Asian-led world economy last seen before the Industrial Revolution. The US may hold up better, provided it can remain at the global technological frontier, and the UK could also perform well by G7 standards if it remains open to trade, investment, people and ideas.”

However, while it is easy to cite mammoth growth for emerging markets, PwC did state that for these economies to realise their full potential, their respective governments would need to pursue and maintain sensible economic policies.
