Sad, sad news

    A stampede occurred during one of the last rites of the holy pilgrimage. During the popular rite known as "stoning the devil", about 700 people have been confirmed dead and over 800 injured.

     In the stampede that occurred on Thursday, the pilgrims were walking towards the largest pillar when there was a sudden surge in the crowd causing a large number of the crowd to fall.

Mama goes home

The Matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief (Mrs) Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, popularly known as "HID Awolowo" is dead.


She passed away today Saturday September 19,2015 at 99 years.Her 100th birthday was scheduled for November 25,2015

HID was until her death the chairman of Nigeria’s foremost newspaper, Nigerian Tribune.
